When designing an advertisement, there are many stages to get to the final product here are some of stages.
1. One the stages I had to go through was research, research, research. Finding out what watts tower was, the .main point. Research was done on location, the web, and any written material available.
2. Also listing 10 words attached with pictures allowed my mind to open up to the possibilities to what I wanted to advertise. So as the images came so did the ideas.
3. Since I was not acquainted with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, or photoshop, it took a lot of trail and error to be able to produce the final project.
4.Then there was the selection of a designer, which for me was David Carson. I especially was drawn to some of his works that were clean, simple, with a lot.of space.
5. The main concept finally came to me, to target all those people who print positive attitude posters about achieving goals. Also other targets were the self-help motivators who publish books and have seminars. So that is how the "The Watts Renaissance" and " A deep think Tank" were born.
6. Then came time to pick the pictures and the angles or perspectives of what the viewer would see, and feel. Boy was that raw and it took a lot of work.
7. Fonts was another thing that was important to pick. The fonts either work with the message, and picture of what you are trying to say or they don't. If you pick the wrong fonts it could give a mixed message of what you are trying to imply. So I had to work on the style, the thickness, the color of the font, and how it balanced the the whole.
8. Since David Carson was airy in his work I had to try to give my work the simple, modern, clean lines he had.
